Just like people, the sunflower needs the dirt to keep grounded and stable so it can reach for the sun and lightness. We all have the power to grow from darkness into light.
The aim of counselling is to provide you, the client, with an opportunity to explore personal issues in a safe and confidential environment. My role as a counsellor is to help you through this process without judgement.
Our focus is to help you heal, energise and become aware of your inner strengths. We achieve this together in a neutral safe space. I will listen to your concerns, we will then build a therapeutic plan that suits your needs.
The content of our sessions is confidential and each session lasts 50 minutes. Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
Write a list of life-affirming, positive statements to repeat to yourself whenever you are feeling inadequate or in need of a boost. You can adapt these to your own personal preferences and circumstances, but affirmations such as "I am enough", "I deserve happiness" and "I am worthy of all the kindness that comes my way" may be useful starting points.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger after traumatic events. Through counselling, I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Depression, fear and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling, I am able to help you recover motivation, perspective and joy that you once had in your life.
My name is Lisa Maye and I am a fully qualified, National Counselling Society (NCS) Registered Counsellor, based in the Armagh area. At times, we may feel a change in our mood, we may feel stressed or anxious, or something quite traumatic such as the loss of a loved one or a diagnosed illness may occur. It can be extremely difficult to reach out and ask for help, especially to those closest such as a spouse or family member. This is far from a weakness, indeed taking the first step towards seeking professional support is to be seen as being quite powerful. The hardest point is reaching out and stepping through the door of the counselling room. At LM Counselling, I can provide a safe and confidential space for you to recognise and reflect upon your thoughts and feelings. Together we will work through the counselling process to overcome obstacles and help you develop new or improved ways of coping.
